The institutional TOEFL is administered to all newly admitted, regular semester students upon entering the Intensive English Program and again at the end of each term that the student participates in the program.
Returning students do not take the TOEFL at the beginning of the semester. Returning students can, however, opt in to take the TOEFL at the beginning of the semester buy paying the $50 testing fee.
In addition to the institutional TOEFL, all students will take the CAMLA placement tests during the first week of classes. All students will take a computer-based exit exam at the end of each term.
Change of Level
Course placements are based on performance on TOEFL and CAMLA tests. Placements are final. Changes in level may only be made by instructors in the first two weeks of the term.
Students that reach the advanced level may take a class at ISU. See the Director for more information
